Sharepoint -> collaborative platform environment for business purposes (create top level websites and adding content , share information between company, transfer data)
Sharepoint on-premise terms:
1) Site collection - is a top level website , which contains private sites grouped by departments (you can have 500 private sites as a limit imposed by sharepoint).
Each private site can have a subsite. You can create up to 2000 subsites in a site collection with a maximum of 250.000 per site collection.
A site collection can have 25 gb per site collection.
Each site collection that you create is a parent website container that has:
a. sites
b. subsites
c. content (folders that you can create in each folder you can add documents to share business information data related to the corporate environment)
2) Private sites -> each private site is desgined for a certain purpose and is the next tree level for a site collection; they can be grouped
3) Public sharepoint site -> is your public sharepoint site where you have your profile information data
4) Team site -> we can create a particular site for a certain department , let's say hr where we can add all hr members and assigned the permissions on this specific team site
---------------Issues that might occur:---------------------------
Lost permissions on site collection -> you need to go on the exact path where the permission has been lost.
Moreover how you configure the parent site (site collection) like so will appear the subsites as a template.
